I am going away to Alton Towers next month with my partner and two friends and I was wondering what is the cheapest way of going about insurance to enable them to drive my car for the 2-3 day road trip down there and back. We want to split the journey between two of us as it will take about 6 hours there and 6 hours back so we were going to do 3 hours each there and back. We're taking my car as it's the only reliable one and the most spacious. They both have their own cars and their own insurance and have both been driving for 1 - 2 years. The girl will be 20 when we actually go down there but she is fully comprehensive on her dads insurance. What can we do? And please don't suggest I drive all the way as I've done it before and I said i wouldn't again as it was just too long to concentrate on one big stretch of road, even with a couple of stops. Hi, I have received a letter from my insurance company stating that i have had an insurance claim against me, and i asked them for more detail, the time and date. They gave me the place and date, and i was there at the time of the incident, but i did not hit the car that they stated. I'm planing to buy small Fiat which is Insurance Group 5 and I looked up for costs through money supermarket and the cheapest deal was over 9000 for a year and that's just ridiculous so I'm a bit confused about it and don't know if i did something wrong when filled the information but anyway what the average cost should be like? Is it true about how you can avoid paying car insurance?

I was once told by one of my professors that the law allows you to not pay car insurance as long as you have a certain amount of money on reserve for paying the cost of the accident (if the judge found you to be the cause.) Is this true or the law have changed? If it's true, it would sound logical to test the stats to see the probability of you getting into an accident and the time you can avoid paying insurance. Any thoughts?

I have a new 2011 GM vehicle in Texas and was getting an insurance quote from GMAC. Part of their pitch to convince me choose them was that in an insurance claim, they will buy genuine GM OEM parts for my car, and that other insurance companies will go for cheaper aftermarket or non-OEM parts and they told me that will void my car's warranty. My car is insured by progressive. There was a break in attempt about a month ago. Unfortunately, i was out of town and my husband didnt file a report. Upon attempting to break in, our window would not roll up or down anymore because they set it off track. Today, our whole lock came out of the door! (I dont know what its called, the place that you put your key in the door in order to lock your car, it came out of the door.) We are broke and cant fix it because BMW parts are SO expensive.
